Preparing for 3d printing
1
Flatten the bottom of the model or give it a flat base (a simple cube)
2
Go to tool-> Subtool -> all high, get all subtools into the top subdivision level.
3
Merge all the subtools, including the base, into 1 subtool
4
Dynamesh it. Test out a good resolution, do not go higher than 3 million polygons.
5
Use decimation master
Decimate it down to lower than 500K polygons, so it’s light, and still keeps all the surface details that we worked so hard to put in.
(if it is too dense, the printing process would be difficult)
6
Export a stl file using the zplugin -> 3d print hub -> export to stl
Make sure your full name is in the name of the file.
7 take a snap shot of the model in jpg, send the stl and jpg to both
Using WeTransfer
quite a few of you have made excellent progress, good job guys!
Please start submitting the model on Monday June 4th, 9am
